An Integrated Framework Supporting Scientific Innovation
The CIP is structured around three strategic and interconnected pillars: fundamental and applied research, advanced technological platforms, and academic training. Additionally, the Centre offers specialized services to biotechnology companies, thereby consolidating its role as a key contributor to the development of both the scientific and industrial landscape.

The CIP encompasses 8 research laboratories, organized into
Technological Platforms Supporting Academic and Industrial Research
The CIP’s infrastructure includes three technological platforms, established through the consolidation of technical expertise and material resources. These platforms are designed to provide researchers with access to high-performance, cutting-edge technologies. Each platform is overseen by a dedicated scientific manager, supported by two experienced technicians who ensure the continuity and quality of operations. This structure enables the platforms to serve both academic research groups and private companies effectively.
Furthermore, two of these platforms are affiliated with the INSTRUCT-ERIC European infrastructure network, which brings together leading facilities in the field of structural biology.
A Strong Commitment to Academic Training
The CIP plays an active role in scientific training through the hosting of the Forem Training Center in Biotechnology. It also includes three academic staff members and contributes significantly to teaching within the Biochemistry and Molecular and Cellular Biology curriculum. In addition, the CIP is closely involved in the ULiège Doctoral School in Life Sciences, supporting the development of early-career researchers.
Every year, the CIP welcomes several Erasmus students for their final-year research projects, fostering an enriching exchange of knowledge and perspectives. The Centre also takes part in international training networks, including the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA). Through these initiatives, the CIP contributes to the training and career development of early-stage researchers by providing access to cutting-edge expertise, international mobility opportunities, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
A Collaborative Environment for Biotech Companies
The CIP maintains privileged contacts with numerous actors from local and national biotech companies. By providing them with preferential access to its technological platforms and state-of-the-art facilities, the CIP actively fosters fruitful collaborations between academic research and industry. This close interaction not only promotes the transfer of knowledge and technologies but also contributes to innovation and the development of impactful applied research projects.
